Lehenga has a very rich history because its origin can be traced back to the medieval period when the country was under Mughal occupation. It is regarded as a form of skirt very similar to the one worn by people from Scotland but vastly different from design. Over the years it has undergone major modifications because of the changing preferences of the users. Designer Lehenga is generally adjusted to the waist and consists of different types of excellent craftsmanship that has catapulted it to be one of the most prominent ethnic wears in market.
They are made of different materials like silk and cotton which provide a wonderful texture to the dress. Sometimes many of the products also consist of satin which is regarded as one of the most precious elements that provide a rich variety to this dress. Apart from that one of the most popular materials is a mixture of cotton with polyester content that has resulted in making the ethnic wear appear crispier than the normal dress. If you analyze Bridal Lehenga you would be astounded to realize that it is the hallmark of embroidery that has unparalleled features not seen in any of the products in similar category. There are other varieties of ethnic wear which are very popular and are worn during wedding celebrations which are organized with great pomp and show. It is one of the cornerstones of Indian event management industry that generates lots of revenue for companies. Marriage ceremonies are an expensive affair because of large number of rituals that are spread across multiple days. Wedding Lehengas dress has become quite popular in recent times because they are adorned with heavy embroidery that looks very attractive.
“The moment my wedding date was fixed, I couldn’t stop thinking about what needs to be done; while the arrangements and events bit is something which is keeping me and my family busy, what kept me most preoccupied was thinking about what to wear and where to shop, and I didn’t know where to start. A friend suggested I check the album ‘Lehenga LookBook’ on WeddingSutra’s FB page. I loved the album but I still couldn’t figure out what I should wear. I’m a jeans and tee girl, so I haven’t really bought too much Indian wear, and I was confused whether I should go very traditional, or pick something contemporary Indian. One day when I was browsing through the WeddingSutra blog, I read about ‘WeddingSutra on Location’ and immediately dashed off an email to tell them how eager I was to be a part of it. I was selected and super excited. On the day of the event, when I entered Fizaa, I was overwhelmed to see the variety of colors and styles in Indian wear. After I met all the experts, stylist Sakshi Mehra suggested I try a Shyamal & Bhumika lehenga- red and white with intricate gold and silver work, with a white and gold dupatta.
I loved what I saw in the mirror and decided to go with it. For Makeup Kumar Iyer asked me what I wanted– and here I was a little clear, I wanted to look like a Gujarati bride, but with light and natural make-up, Kumar smiled and nodded, and I was reassured that he knows what I want. Hair Stylist Ishita Khanna gave me a fabulous side bun with few flowers to complete the look. During the photo shoot I was a little conscious, but Shreya Sen made me comfortable while she clicked away. Oh, I never knew a photo shoot could be so much fun! I walked out of Fizaa happy that I had learnt so much about clothes, make-up and hairstyling in three hours.”
Lehenga is one of the most important ethnic wears that has seen its popularity soar in present time. They are available in a mixture of colors which provide it a wonderful and unique look. It is outstanding because it represents amalgamation of diverse cultures of India. One of the major factors which are responsible for differentiation is the threading work which is sometimes done in gold that increases the overall cost. If you want to decrease the overall price, you can opt for silver threads that would go a long way in making your Bridal Lehenga look attractive and fabulous. There are many instances when embroidery is done with the help of precious gems and stones. They are instrumental in making your dress look out of the world. If you want to buy a suitable Wedding Lehengas dress you must focus on quality that would help you to select the best option.
