We’ve all imagined it ~ that unique, once-in-a-lifetime wedding lehenga that says “this is me”. If you’re looking to bring that seamless vision to life, then Magda Grové is your couturier. With over a decade in design experience, Magda Grové not only knows the industry but she gI finally found Her: The perfect dress for my wedding on September 1! I'd like to give a special shout-out to my consultant Andrea from Bridal Reflections in Carle Place, Long Island, for her unwavering patience, arms of steel, and contagious smile. 25+ dresses later, here's what I learned. (Catch up on part 1 of my dress shopping experience, here.)
ets to know her brides Being surrounded by a billowing sea of white fabric makes you hyper-aware of your appearance. Under-eye circles that were barely noticeable before look stark. Pale pink lipstick is drowned out by fluorescent lighting. You don't have to get dolled up for your consultant; apply just enough so that you feel presentable. But whatever you do, DON'T apply self-tanner in the days leading up to your appointment, in order to avoid damaging any of the dresses. Also wear your hair the way you've planned it for the wedding. They can't assist you properly if you don't tell them how you really feel. "It's beautiful," I murmured, after stepping into each dress or pulling it over my head. Unaware that I was saying this for Each And Every Gown, Andrea eventually called me out on it: "I'm not the designer; you won't hurt my feelings, you know." Ten "nos" (including the Lazaro style pictured above) helped me get to my final "yes." Also consultants rarely outright told me to take something off, so when they did, I knew they were being truthful. If they use the words "we can do better," you'll know. Before making my final decision, Andrea helped me into the top contender one last time, veil and all, and had me walk around the periphery of the store to meet my dad at the front entrance. Walking towards him and seeing his stunned reaction solidified how much I loved the dress. Go ahead, sit, shimmy, and even twirl in the gowns while trying them on—if it's the right one, you should feel as if you never want to take it off.Wedding gowns are so heavy that getting in and out of them is a workout in itself; I'd find myself ravenous (and in need of a good nap) afterwards! Up until that point, I had made major planning decisions (venue, photographer, DJ), but when I saw how I looked in my dress, it was as if all that was just a fuzzy dream that suddenly became crystal-clear when I woke up. Not the weepy type, I was mortified when tears streamed down my cheeks. On the other hand, a bride-to-be friend of mine who sniffles at commercials was mystified by how detached she was to the gown she bought. That's the beauty of wedding planning—no two brides will ever have the same exact experience. If Mom has been looking forward to this moment ever since you played dress-up as a little girl, oblige her just this one time and try on one of her recommendations. It's a win-win: Either she'll see that you were right about lace looking all kinds of wrong on you, or you may shock yourself by purchasing one of her picks, like I did.
Some salons offer discounts if you purchase bridesmaid or mother of the bride/groom dresses there as well. At trunk shows, which feature an entire collection from a specific designer, brides can get a percentage off (usually 10-15), for buying a gown that same day. If you're serious about a dress and can't make the show, try it on beforehand and see if they'll grant it to you at the lower price anyway.
In order to buy a dress, you'll have to commit to a certain size ahead of time, and they're teeny-tiny compared to regular clothing sizes (a bridal size 6 is equivalent to a size 2 in "normal" clothes). I expected that, but I was surprised to learn I'd have to sign off on the length of the heels I'm wearing on the day of the wedding (this would affect my alterations). If you're planning on customizing your gown by adding sleeves, embellishments, or dropping/raising the waist, be prepared to answer very specific questions about that as well.Shopping can be a scene out of a romantic comedy:

"What is the most popular wedding dress styles?", "What wedding dress is right for me?", "How to choose the right wedding dress", "How to choose the perfect wedding dress?" - These are some very common questions that many brides-to-be ask.
There are many wedding dress styles and designs coming to the market every year. The good thing is as consumers, we are getting more exciting options. The down side is, for many first-time brides who have no knowledge of the bridal fashion industry, the wide variety of styles and strange terminology used to describe them make the task of choosing the best wedding dress a very challenging one.
There are many factors involved in the decision, including personality of the bride, wedding theme, wedding budget... For a start, we will focus on the most basic but most important factor, ie. choosing the best wedding dress styles for your body types. After understanding the different body shapes, we will take a look at some of the most popular wedding dress styles in the bridal fashion market.
It is important to be aware of our own body shape and honestly acknowledge any physical flaws. As you read on, try to visualize the shape of your body in the various wedding dress styles. This way, you can easily identify the best silhouette that will flatter your body and cover up your flaws.
The princess wedding dress has fitted vertical seams running from shoulders down to a flair skirt with no seam across the waistline. The skirt looks like the shape of the letter "A" and is called an A-line skirt. Therefore, some people refer this style as A-line wedding dress.
helps to make the waist look slim and hide the hips. If you like to add volume to the dress for a more dreamy look, a hooped petticoat beneath the skirt may just do the trick.
The name "ball gown wedding dress" is self-explanatory. If you have absolutely no clue, think of what Cinderella wore to the ball. Some people called it the "fairy-tale" style.
The silhouette of ball gown wedding dress and princess wedding dresses can be quite similar, especially when the volume of a princess wedding dress is enhanced by petticoat hoop. The main difference lies in way the seams run. Here is how you can differentiate: for ball gown wedding dresses, you will see a seam running across the waistline and the skirt starts to balloon up from there.
Ball gown wedding dresses are usually paired with fitted bodice line. They look fabulous on brides with slim waistline and is perfect for hiding full hips - good disguise for pear body shape. Note that brides with large body frame should think twice about this style as it may make them look bigger. On the other hand, very petite brides may also find it overwhelming to carry too much extra fabric for their small frame.Wedding Dress Style that Flatters Balanced Body Shape
Sheath wedding dresses are also known as column wedding dresses. Like princess wedding dresses, the seams runs vertically from the shoulders down to the floor but the hem is not as flair. In fact, sheath wedding dresses are usually body-hugging and reveal the body shape easily.
This style work best for tall, slim brides with balanced figures. It is also suitable for petite brides as it creates an elongated illusion. Brides who dislike their body shape should avoid sheath wedding dresses no matter how beautiful the dresses are. You won't want to end up hating the way your body look in your wedding photos, do you?
Best for Brides with Small Bust
An empire wedding dress style has a high waistline. The seam is just underneath the bust where the skirt starts and falls all the way to the floor. The empire line is normally straighter than the princess line but is not as body-hugging as sheath wedding dress.

It's easy to obsess over wedding pics price points and packages, but do yourselves a favor and start your research process by nailing down a wedding photography style first. There are countless types to choose from -- from the more traditional, clean, straight-on shots to creative angles and inventive backdrops (think: garage door with chipped paint) and knowing the aesthetic you're after from the beginning will undoubtedly help you find a photographer you love for all the right reasons. Can't find a photographer you like in your budget? Call one you love and ask them to recommend a less-experienced shooter (maybe one of their assistants) with a similar style. If the Royal Wedding hasn’t yet made you aware of just how mundane wedding photos can be, June is coming soon with fresh opportunities for clichéd group shots (“Smile! Smile, everybody! Smile!”)Denis Reggie, a wedding photographer, takes a different approach, with outstanding results. Over his 30-year career, his unobtrusive style, which he calls “wedding photojournalism,” has led him to shoot now-iconic images of the Kennedy-Bessette wedding, as well as the nuptials of Chelsea Clinton, Vera Wang, Emilio Estevez and many others. Here’s his advice for getting shots fit for a king, or at least a prince.1) Overlook the obvious. Typically, wedding photographers plan for the classic — you might say clichéd — wedding moment, like the bride walking down the aisle. Mr. Reggie looks for a detail that tells the story in a new way. “Maybe it’s the mother clenching her hand to her chest, watching her husband walk the bride down the aisle,” he said. The only way to find those shots is rapt observation. “Look for the unexpected,” he said. “The reason so many people don’t get those real moments, is they are busy trying to orchestrate them, ‘Come over here, you’re here, turn this way.’”
2) Be unobtrusive … somewhat. While the inconspicuous style would seem to lend itself to long lenses, Mr. Reggie says that is seldom the case. “Weddings are inherently crowded spaces, so while a long lens can be great for a garden wedding, they are not the ultimate tool for capturing people shoulder to shoulder, trying to get a glance at the bride’s sparkly ring.”
For most shots he moves in close with a fast, flattering 50-millimeter lens. With his camera’s less-than-full-size sensor, that is the equivalent of a 65-millimeter lens on a 35-millimeter camera. The wide angle is only for special situations. “They are not flattering to the human body” he said. Another tip is to prepare for low light, setting your camera’s light sensitivity – the ISO – as high as you can without getting too much speckled “noise” in your images.
3) Work fast. A key to capturing those real moments is not trying to force them. Mr. Reggie does take classic group shots of the wedding party, but, “I think it’s an 11-minute process,” he said. “Eleven minutes is about all people can tolerate.” Any longer and people begin to look bored and stiff. While he relies on old etiquette books to determine who stands where in the group shots, it doesn’t pay to be too fussy. “In terms of ‘perfect,’ of adjusting every bowtie, I’d rather have it real. In some of the best shots the bride’s slip is showing.”

Henna is basically a dye that gives a cooling effect when applied on the skin and gives red color to it. It is mostly used on hair as a natural dye but is commonly used to decorate hands.
When it dries completely, the skin or hair is washed with water to reveal the dyed color.
Asian brides are not complete until they have applied Henna on their hands and feet.
Nowadays the henna cone contains some chemicals, so if you are allergic or your skin is sensitive, then check a little amount of henna on your palm before making the whole design. If it gives you itcy or burning feeling, do not use it. Sometimes, it happens when the henna is expired so make sure to use the fresh one.
Also, if you have done waxing on an area where you are going to apply henna, do not do it just after waxing. Wait a day or two, as skin pores will be opened and henna contains some chemical. This situation may cause damage or irritation on your skin.Henna gives different color on different skins. On palms, the color is darkest, near to black sometimes. On the other side of hand, the color is much lighter and then on arm it gets lighter. The color comes best after one or two days. You will notice the difference of the color everyday, first it goes darker, then after few days, it goes lighter and finally its gone!
Place henna design on a table or some hard surface. Lay a sheet of clear glass on it to cover it completely.
The main thing to apply Henna from cone is to hold the cone correctly. Hold it in your right hand (if you are Right-handed), taking photo as a guide. Your hand must be comfortable while holding it and try to squeeze to see how comfortably you can do it. Squeeze little at a time, do not apply too much force as the henna mixture is in liquid form and at the beginning, it comes out of the cone without squeezing. Learn as you do!
Take out the pin from the cone when you are using it and keep it in someplace safe. And do not forget to put it back in the cone when you have done working. When you are ready to start, take the pin out of cone and squeeze a little henna on a piece of tissue paper. It will be black in the beginning and hard too, keep squeezing it until the mixture comes out of light color and is soft.As you start applying, the tip keeps on get messy, so keep cleaning it with tissue paper. The cleaner the tip, the neater will be your work.
